Morning Rituals for Success

Repost –  Cohorted Cult – Morning Rituals for Success by Me, Becky.

”The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine” – Mike Murdock

What does success mean to you? It all resonates differently to us all so your definition of success to everyone else’s definition of success is probably not at all the same. Your version of success to you is the most important so aim for your own greatness daily.

We all have 24 hours in a day but how you want to spend that time is entirely up to you, undoubtedly we all want to reach our full potential otherwise you wouldn’t be here reading this…

Here are some of the best morning rituals for you to do reach maximum levels of productivity and motivation on a day to day basis…this is something for everyone to so there’s NO excuses. It might seem like a lot but if you organise yourself well you can do this all in less than 90 minutes, consider these as power hours.

Wake Up Earlier

Let’s start with the key ritual – Wake up earlier than what you do already (2 hours is perfect)  Giving yourself some power hours in the AM is a game changer, Rushing in the morning often has a ripple effect throughout your day which can be stressful and distracting.

Don’t pick up your phone first thing in the AM

This is an increasingly bad habit for us all. Turn off your alarm, put the phone down and crack on with your morning. Don’t be distracted by what’s happening on your phone (especially social media) it can all wait. We’re not able to control what we see by looking through our phones, it’s important to be in control of our thoughts and emotions.

Write down your to-do list for the day

In the morning have a pad and pen at the ready by your bed when you wake up first thing, write down everything you need to do for that day and try to prioritise the important things first, set your biggest intention for the day too.

Make your bed

Just make it. Keep your room tidy because you’ll be thankful coming back to it in the evening…Tidy room, tidy mind – you know how it is.

Meditate

You can take as long as long as you want meditating, but 5-10 minutes is perfect to start the day.
Sit up straight in a silent space
Close your eyes and scan through your body and see how you’re feeling
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth
Stay focused but allow your mind to wander when it wants to, draw your attention back

Work Out & Eat Breakfast

Not everyone works out daily or sometimes even at all but getting at least 30 minutes of exercise in everyday is great for your physical and mental health. There are many benefits of getting it done first thing but that’s completely down to you (try make it a habit) Get them endorphins going!

Eating a well-balanced nutritional breakfast will set you up for the day ahead so make sure you give yourself enough time to include this in your morning routine.

Listen to a Motivational Podcast or Listen to Your Favourite Playlist

Get your favourite playlist on whilst you’re getting ready for your day or put on a podcast of your choice whilst you’re on your commute. Filling in these ‘gaps’ with something uplifting/inspiring and informative is beneficial for your concentration, mood and imagination.

‘Power of Podcasts’

Final thoughts?

Give yourself enough time in the morning to complete these rituals and take your time to enjoy the start of your day. Become familiar with each pointer and take your time to perfect each one – there’s no rush. Get one right and implement another and keep going until you can fit them all into your morning power hours.
