The Winter Forest – Review

Good Evening all, I Hope you’ve had a great week so far, it’s almost the weekend so no complaints over here, as promised from my a recent post, ‘Festive things to do in London at Christmas’ I said I would write a follow-up review of all the things I manage to do this Christmas.

I officially did my first Christmassy thing of the season last night and I’m so excited to share it with you. I was inspired over Instagram (of course) to come here, it literally looked so cosy and magical and I just knew I had to go.

Where : Broadgate London (Literally outside Liverpool Street Station)

When : Wednesday 22nd – After Work Drinks

With : My Favourite sisters, Lucy & Holly – They’re both two of my closest friends but unfortunately we’ve been able to catch up for a long time in a sensible environment (Normally out partying) Luckily for me they’re them kind of friends that will always make you feel like you’ve never had a moment apart that’s what makes little experiences like this a little more special.

So, from the first instance you enter The Winter Forest you walk through either 2 of these little enchanted forest tunnels, I can assure you this will be the most instagramed photo by the end of Christmas + the person standing in the middle…

I L O V E D I T

Typical Insta/blogger moment…(Moments) So many oooh’s and arr’s with the actual cuteness of the place.

This was taken from the ‘Hide Away’ entrance, You can see the second entrance on the other side… Photo’s never do justice because it’s the actual feeling you get when you first walk in

Immersive experience

You get to feel the cold crispy air,  smell the food cooking up in the grill, see and touch the beautiful snowy tree’s  & most of all go drown in some festive drinks.

Within the market there were a few bar’s serving beers & spirits and whatever else, what mostly appealed to me was these little wagons serving mulled wine and hot chocolates,  I absolutely love mulled wine but only ever wait until the festive season to drink it… We added cherry brandy and amaretto into the mix and my god wasn’t It just amazing!

BAR & GRILL

I literally couldn’t leave that place without eating, trust me, when you go you’ll know! The smell is incredible, it’s so homely and comforting. I’m sure I wasn’t even hungry but I had to go for the salted gammon (as seen above)

This is the Bar & Grill tipi, it is covering up a good part of the outdoor area but this is where everything happens, if you choose to sit under cover you’ll have a cosy space either on bean bags or around a table, this is certainly the better space for bigger groups as it is a lot louder and social.

It has a great atmosphere and feels very festive, It was also a lot warmer in the tipi so it would be great if you could get a spot inside, with that being said we actually wanted to sit outside in between the tree’s and lights so that we did.

TIPI CINEMA

The second tipi which was of course separate to the rest of the winter forest was actually a cinema, I never went inside so I haven’t got any photos but if you fancy a cinema date with a difference then this is the place to go, cuddle up and watch some classics.

I would probably only go to the cinema as a couple or with a friend or very few as well.. it’s a cinema, although it’s relaxed you still have to respect the surroundings BUT then you’re in the perfect spot to continue the night after…

Check the link to find what festive films they have coming up

The Hideaway

We didn’t go to the hideaway either, these are for bookings only but the concept is rather pleasing as you can wrap up in blankets, get warm with hot water bottles and tuck into a cheese or chocolate fondu and enjoy festive drinks, The website show’s that there’s a maximum of 8 people to a table and a £250 minimum spend.

The Winter Forest was literally my kind of perfect. If you’re local or passing by this christmas make sure you go, I know I will probably use this as my go to place for the next few weeks for the after work drinks and social link ups… it has a crowning ambience thats unmissable, entrance is free so you can just go and get a little selfie!

Thank you to these two beauties for the wonderful company
